Hello, I'm Pixonu - but if you'd prefer a real name, you can call me Dave.
This is the part where I tell you some facts about me. Well, I was never that good at sports... lets just get that out of the way first before you ask me to play football. For as long as I can remember i've been one of those creative types – not an insane paint-thrower or anything... well ok, maybe I am a little eccentric. Somehow along the way, I managed to turn my highly visual outlook into a career.
I'm senior graphic designer for a large printing company, which keeps me busy for most of the week – although, if an interesting project comes along I can usually bend space and time to make it happen!
Some achievements i've picked up along the way include a BA (Hons) in Packaging and Design, a Diploma in Graphic Design and a Foundation Degree in Fine Art. I'd mention my 10+ years experience using Adobe creative software and 5+ years in fast-paced environments – but I wouldn't want to brag.
Due to my personal involvement in social media and video communities, I receive high demand for the creation of YouTube and Twitter layouts - I thoroughly enjoy building brand identities, promoting visual presence and implimenting online strategy.
If I do get any other spare time I work on my forthcoming clothing brand, create electronic music and improve my HTML/CSS coding skills - I mostly try to get some much needed sunshine! To find out what I'm doing at any given moment, I would suggest that you follow me on twitter.
My greatest strengths are in advertising/branding for print and web... and I'm somewhat of a social media whizz.
I am highly proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, QuarkXPress and have an excellent working knowledge of Dreamweaver, XHTML and CSS. I love video and sound editing applications and am well-versed in *spits* Microsoft Office.
You do know nobody is going to read this?
'About me' pages are always boring - but you're nearly done!
A few of my passions are emerging technology, typography, screen printing, colour psychology, mobile and online user experience and online video content. My greatest weaknesses are donuts and compliments.
My Equipment
A good designer never blames his tools... or something.
Working in the printing industry affords me direct access to some of the best digital and litho printing equipment available today. I always use the latest design software and try to keep my hardware top notch (well... as much as my accountant allows!).
Over the years I have had a Power Mac G3 and G5, an original iMac, a Mac Mini and now I currently work on a 27" iMac and a MacBook... I wonder if Steve Jobs does a loyalty discount?
